Servicing our adult patient population, our Rehab team is focused on fulfilling Banner’s mission to make a difference in people’s lives through excellent patient care. As vital members of the care team, our OTs, PTs, and SLPs partner with our physicians, nurses, case management and most importantly, our patients and their families to provide a comprehensive, collaborative treatment approach.

Banner Thunderbird represents a diverse inpatient population ranging all ages from birth to geriatrics. The rehab department at Thunderbird has two complete rehab teams with PT/OT/ST- one servicing the adult population and the other servicing the pediatric population. We have dedicated specialty units for addressing the needs of specialty orthopedic patients, cardiac, neurological, oncology, pediatrics, behavioral health, Intensive Care Units, emergency department, and more. Our therapists rotate among all units for overall specialization in multitude of disorders and diagnosis. Therapists at BTMC have access to formal learning opportunities throughout the year.
PT/OT: On campus, our therapists are fortunate to work closely with some of the best specialty orthopedic physicians for learning opportunities, such as orthopedic surgery observations.

This position is responsible for the evaluation, planning, administration and supervision of Physical Therapy treatment in accordance with physician referral, state and national organizational standards, regulatory agencies, and established departmental policies and procedures. This position demonstrates the clinical competence and knowledge necessary to provide treatment appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Must have graduated from an APTA accredited school of Physical Therapy, or equivalent.
Must possess a current Physical Therapy license within the State of practice. BLS certification required.
Relates throughout the interview process their clinical competency, experience, training and education they have received that is required to perform the job. Demonstrates through behaviors and answers to job related experiential questions.Banner Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting and experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Physical Therapist in the specialty area
Must have the ability to become proficient with computer software applications commonly used in an automated patient care environment. Patient care equipment, evaluation tools, and therapeutic modalities. Copier, multi-line feature telephone, fax machine, computer, pager, and miscellaneous office equipment.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
