Banner Desert Medical Center/ Cardon Children’s Medical Center Surgery Department has 25 Operating Rooms which includes 6 dedicated pediatric rooms; 1 cysto room, 4 minimally invasive; 2 robotic, 3 cardiovascular and 2 total joint rooms. BDMC/CCMC offers a full range of surgical specialties in both the adult and pediatric population: Cardiovascular, Urology, Orthopedic, General, Gynecology, Neurology, ENT, Plastic and Robotic. We are a fast paced OR, performing high acuity cases.
The Adult Perianesthesia department provides care for anesthesia surgical patients, MRI patients and Radiology patients A wide variety of patients are seen following all types of surgeries, including general, orthopedic, neurological, gynecological, EENT, vascular, thoracic, urology, plastics and oral. Perianesthesia department consists of 63 bays. The PACU unit is composed of 28 recovery beds, Flex unit has 6 recliners and 12 Beds. The Pre-op is composed of 17 Pre-op rooms. Pre-Op prepares Adult in-patients and out-patients, for surgery. Preparing the patient includes but is not limited to: Education, reviewing patient history, reviewing diagnostic and laboratory data, Pain management, verification of surgical side/site, consents signed and verified, medication reconciliation, completing Physician orders, ensures History and Physical is current and on chart, and notifying surgeon and anesthesiologist of any abnormal results or history. A full range of recovery care services are provided including but not limited to the following modalities; ventilator support, airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, pain management, and neurological monitoring.
Day shift Mon-Fri 6a-2:30p with call and weekend rotation.

Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting.
Bachelors degree preferred.Professional certification preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
