CT Technologist

Banner Desert/Cardon Children’s Medical Center

 

Banner Desert/ Cardon Children’s Medical Center has an immediate opportunity for a registered CT technologist to work in our high volume Trauma facility serving both adult and the pediatric population. We're looking for experienced and professional candidates who are able to independently perform inpatient and outpatient CT exams.  

 

This is a full time opportunity to work  12 hour shifts, 6:30am - 5:00pm every Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon with call and holiday rotation.

  • 5 CT scanners (Toshiba, Siemens, and GE) 2- scanners are located in the ED, 1- Cardon Children’s, and 2- on the BDMC campus
  • This facility has a Siemens Force Premium CT scanner, one of the few located in the Western United States.
  • Our department performs diagnostic and interventional procedures i.e. Biopsy’s, cardiac CT, CTA, TAVR
  • Staff may rotate through 5 scanners (depending on their shift)
  • 3D lab utilized for post processing CT exams
  • Average of 170-210 exams in a 24 hour period
  • Administer contrast as needed, in a safe and effective manner.
  • Monitor patient's well-being during exams; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action.
  • Provide patient education by talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process
  • Staff are committed to delivering professional, compassionate care at all touch points throughout their stay.
  • Holiday and call rotation is required

 

Qualifications:

  • ARRT registered technologist, in good standing
  • MRTBE
  • BLS certification

Job Summary

This position performs prescribed procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures and protocols. This position ensures optimal care/treatment to patient population.

 

Essential Functions

  • Performs procedures by following and verifying referring providers orders. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.

 

  • Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Demonstrates professional behavior/conduct in all interactions; fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources and quality patient outcomes.

 

  • Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation.

 

  • Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures if applicable in accordance with established policies if applicable.

 

  • Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Demonstrates the ability to trouble shoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Adheres to safety policies.

 

  • Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to the radiology practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information.

 

  • Assures the efficient operation of workflow of the department. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited Radiologic Technology program or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board. (NMTCB)

Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the state regulatory agency if applicable. Advance certification by accrediting body in specialty required within 18 months of hire if applicable. BLS certification required.

This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 2 years of experience. Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, analyze data and solve problems.Banner Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months in the area of specialty.
