The mission of Banner Baywood Pharmacy is to provide optimal pharmaceutical care for all patients served. Pharmacy associates will provide a patient centered approach to optimize medication therapy management and resources, ensure timely medication distribution, and promote health wellness through medication therapy education to make a difference in people’s lives. This position will work under the supervision of the pharmacist and performs routine duties in packaging, distribution and record keeping of pharmaceutical supplies. Assists in preparing compounded and intravenous medications, total parenteral nutrition products, and chemotherapy agents. Encourages and is instrumental in the training and orientation of new employees.
Hours: Varied shift with mostly days, rotating weekends (may be asked to work a day or evening shift on occasion, must be flexible)
HS Diploma or GED
Pharmacy Technician License and Certification
1+ years as a Pharmacy Technician
IV Sterile Compounding experience

This position will work under the supervision of the pharmacist. Performs routine duties in packaging, distribution and record keeping of pharmaceutical supplies. Assists in preparing compounded and intravenous medications, total parenteral nutrition products, and chemotherapeutic agents. Consistently demonstrates an ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives, and choose the appropriate course of action. May work with the Pharmacist in processing physician orders for medications by entering information in to the medication management system in an unverified status. May educate, train, and oversee the activities of the Pharmacy Technician, Technician Externs and Volunteers. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients.
Requires pharmacy technician licensure in the state of practice (where applicable). Pharmacy technician certification required.
Must possess good organizational, problem solving and computer skills. Must have good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and other contacts.
May be required to posses a valid drivers license and be eligible for coverage under the companys auto insurance policy.
Pharmacy technician experience.Knowledge of medication management information system software and automated dispensing systems.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
