Banner Thunderbird is seeking a Business Analyst II

 

This position is responsible for assisting with the development of multi-disciplinary strategies, processes, and project plans to support achievement of enhancing care delivery, as well as leading various facility-based projects related to clinical process projects and program improvements.

Shift: M-F 8a-5pm occasionally will have to be flexible. 

 

Preferred candidate -

MBA.
Lean/Six Sigma training.
Significant clinical experience (>3 years healthcare experience).
SAS proficient.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating the collection of relevant data to support the financial and operational plans to achieve overall system and entity strategic goals and objectives. This position provides analytical support for both financial and operational goals, which includes analyzing and interpreting operational reports in an accurate and timely manner. This position will support management and leadership in the adoption of new processes that are both financial and operational in nature to increase efficiency and compliance while maximizing the highest level of quality.

 

Essential Functions

  • Provides analysis and interpretation of data and develops operational reports required for decision support. Gather data from various multi-disciplinary teams and provides the necessary information to support the preparation and presentation of business plans. Partners with facility/entity departments and other entities within the system as appropriate to achieve defined goals.

 

  • Initiates and directs the identification and implementation of operating improvements and efficiencies by identifying important trends and variances through the review of management reports and operational analysis. May serve as Business Unit COO.

 

  • Works with leadership and team members to manage key operational processes within the organization, including operating budgets, productivity, forecasting, charge management, cost accounting, decision support, and reimbursement analysis.

 

  • Provides operational modeling resources for special projects assigned by leadership for analysis.

 

  • Coordinates and conducts formal and informal on-site education and provides support for the use of operational systems and redesigned work processes. Helps identify training and support needs and may assist in the development of materials to effectively implement and support projects and related processes. Directs, schedules, and delivers training; maintains and updates all training materials as upgrades occur.

 

  • May serve as the facilitator required to integrate operational and business standards into work process to support achieving organizational goals. As assigned, works organizational performance, productivity and staffing initiatives that have a direct effect on operations.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a level of knowledge of business or hospital operational as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Healthcare Administration or a related field.

Requires a proficiency level typically attained with 5 years of experience in healthcare operations. Requires strong abilities in analytical and modeling skills to generate reports, projections, allocations, and analyses, and must be able to work with minimal supervision and prioritize multiple projects. Requires excellent human relations skills and the ability to effectively interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels staff and outside professionals.

Requires proficiency in the use of sophisticated software programs.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
