North Colorado Medical Center is looking for a per diem Emergency Services Communication Specialist (Dispatcher) in beautiful Northern Colorado. This Emergency Services Communication Specialist (Dispatcher) position will join a dynamic Emergency Services team working either 7a-7p or 7p-7a. The successful Emergency Services Communication Specialist (Dispatcher) will have will have 2 or more years’ experience helicopter dispatch experience and either experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or as an Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD). This position will be responsible for all dispatching and coordination of aeromedical transports for the facility
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
EMTBasic or equivalent
Work requires interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with internal andexternal personnel in stressful situations and to act as a representative of areomedical team to the public. Ability to effectively multi-task and have the ability to verbally communicate clearly and precisely in stressful situationsMust demonstrate alertness at all times and be able to withstand high amounts of stressKnowledge of medical terminology required.
Data entry skills and customer service Knowledge of basic computer skillsAbility to operate radio technology
Minimum of 2 years previous EMS / law enforcement / critical care experience preferred. Minimum of 2 years previous EMS helicopter dispatching preferred
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
