    Job Summary

    This position works to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the assigned urgent care zone of up to five clinics, including day-to-day administration of non-provider staff and operations. Uses specialized knowledge, judgment and skills necessary to provide excellent patient care. Responsible for ensuring that high quality patient care and customer service is delivered in the most financially efficient way. Monitors all key performance indicators and constantly identifies and implements changes in areas for improvement and efficiencies.

     

    Essential Functions

    • Supervises the day to day activities of non-provider staff, ensuring a high level of productivity. Continuously monitors the operations and workflow of the assigned urgent care zone and revises operational procedures as necessary in alignment with system practices to ensure efficiency and drive extraordinary results.

     

    • Provides exceptional leadership and promotes teamwork and collaboration within the urgent care setting and within the Banner system. Selects, trains, coaches, motivates, conducts performance evaluations, and directs the workflow of staff. Schedules non-provider staff ensuring that staff is appropriately deployed among offices.

     

    • Oversee all functions of the assigned urgent care zone including reception and scheduling activities, patient service areas, accounting, medical records, transcription, business information systems, and appropriate clinical areas.

     

    • Functions as a liaison between non-provider staff and providers to ensure effective service for patients. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with urgent care providers. Serves as a role model and resource person for providing quality patient care and patient information as needed.

     

    • Maintains office policies and procedures in accordance with provider requirements, facility and system policies and procedures, standard practices of the profession, and related regulatory requirements. Ensures compliance for various accrediting bodies and government agencies and performs all necessary reviews, audits, education, and training to maintain compliant status. Serves as the compliance liaison in designated practices.

     

    • Determines physical maintenance and equipment needs and repairs and coordinates internal or external resources. Resolves problems relating to the facility on a day-to-day basis. Ensures all areas are appropriately stocked and supplies are readily accessible.

     

    • Covers front and/or back office functions. Maintains competencies to function in any of the staff roles as needed in order to support efficient operations. If in a clinical capacity, the incumbent must possess the appropriate licensure to function in the role. May also administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed, and consistent with demonstrated competencies and state scope of practice.

     

    • Collaborates with all urgent care and Banner leaders and teams within the market and system to ensure we provide seamless and integrated services to our patients and meet/exceed our established key performance metrics.

     

     

    Minimum Qualifications

    Requires a level of literacy, communication and math skills as normally demonstrated at the level of an Associates Degree.

    Requires a level of knowledge and ability normally demonstrated by at least three years experience in a provider's office or medical environment. Requires excellent communication and organizational skills.Requires two or more years of supervisory experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree preferred. Clinical licensure preferred, MA, Licensed Nursing Assistant, etc.

    Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
