    Job Summary

    This position provides oversight to a patient or a group of patients. This position is responsible to communicate with the Registered Nurse (RN) upon arrival, departure and as appropriate throughout the shift. The RN will provide instruction to this position as to the expectations and any pertinent patient information. Will ensure the environment is safe and secure at all times. Is aware of the patients code status and pertinent restrictions and report any issues or concerns to the RN.

     

    Essential Functions

    • Follows a plan communicated by the RN when providing support services to patients.

     

    • Communicates the services provided to the patient with the supervisor/Registered Nurse.

     

    • Communicates changes in the patients condition, environment or situation to the RN.

     

    • May practice de-escalation techniques and intervene early with approved diversional activities

     

     

    Minimum Qualifications

    High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Basic Cardiac Life Support, mandatory safety, hazardous materials, and infection control in-services will be included in orientation and required on a periodic basis.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
