Nurses play a critical role in patient care. They’re the smiling faces patients see when they’re sick; they’re advocates for the patients and their families. Truly, they are the heartbeat of a hospital. We care about you, your nursing career today and your future. Great options and great opportunities.
Cardon Children’s Medical Center NICU is an 86 bed unit divided into our high acuity ICU patients and our lower acuity patients. Our ICU side is an open pod layout with six beds per pod. Our CCN (lower acuity) side are all private rooms allowing parents space to room in and learn how to care for their baby before going home. We have a diverse population of patients that include micropremies, neuro patients, cardiac anomalies, surgical patients, ECMO and whole body cooling. We have a family centered care model with an interdisciplinary team approach. Our care includes 24 hour Neonatology coverage, development therapists, Nutritionists, PT/OT and SLP and lactation.
As a registered nurse at Cardon Children’s NICU, you have the unique opportunity to be part of a children’s hospital and share a service line with Women and Infant services(WIS). The children’s hospital gives this NICU the opportunity to take care of patients with surgical and extensive cardiac needs. Being connected to a delivering facility (WIS) allows the opportunity to be involved in high risk deliveries and OB trauma patients. The opportunity of our patient demographic is endless. Our nurses also have a great opportunity to be involved in a shared leadership program which is greatly involved in process improvement and positive change within our unit. Take the next step of your nursing journey and joining our amazing team where our families are at the center of our care.
