Banner New Nurse Experience, is a full-time Registered Nurse position that assists you in transitioning from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health. This program provides a collaborative learning environment in which you have the opportunity to refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and develop new personal and professional relationships.
The successful candidate will be placed in specialized units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. Unit preferences will be taken into consideration as we strive to achieve your nursing career goals. Within the program we hope to successfully match your desired service line with the needs of the business. Day and night positions are available.
Program Activities Include:
Clinical experiences with a preceptor
Training in our state-of-the-art Banner Simulation Center
Competency and skills assessment and verification
Orientation to the Cerner electronic medical health record system
Patient care skills lab that provides hands-on experience with equipment
Resources for professional and personal development
Requirements to Apply Online:
Recent graduation from an accredited nursing program
BSN is highly preferred
Successful completion of NCLEX examination or have received a test date for NCLEX
Current BLS card through the American Heart Association or able to obtain before a start date
At this time the program is on-going, year round. There is no application deadline, however it is recommended that you apply no earlier than 60 days prior to graduation and taking your NCLEX. Job postings are refreshed approximately every 100 days, so you may be asked to apply again.

Hospitals Included in West Valley:
Banner University Medical Center, level 1 trauma facility, in the heart of Phoenix’s metro area. Centrally located, just north of the Downtown Phoenix area.
Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, a level 1 trauma facilty, is easily accessible and in close proximity to multiple freeways and still fairly centrally located in the Valley.
Banner Boswell and Del Webb in the Northwest valley are also easily accessible off the freeway in continuously growing areas of the Phoenix metro area.
Banner Estrella in the Southwest region of Phoenix has beautiful views of the Estrella Mountains and is continuing to grow.

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting.
Bachelors degree preferred.Professional certification preferred.
