Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with knowledge of healthcare financial transactions and have 3+ years of leadership experience.

    Job Summary

    This position directs and oversees processes and systems of the net revenue department for the valuation of accounts receivable and the reporting of net revenue across the system, with a focus on quality outcomes and service. The position is responsible for overseeing a team of regional Net Revenue Program Directors. The Net Revenue Senior Directors responsibilities include overseeing the timely and accurate analysis and review of the balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations within the net revenue department. This position is responsible for ensuring net revenue numbers are properly reported and works closely with senior leaders in understanding financial results.

    Essential Functions

  • Directs strategy of Net Revenue department in areas of responsibility and oversight.

  • Oversees the processes of the Net Revenue Program Directors ensuring the timely analysis and reporting of accurate net revenue numbers to accounting, reimbursement, revenue cycle, and the regional finance teams to understand the monthly net revenue and interim projections. Works collaboratively with senior leadership teams to explain variances and trends for the system's net revenue.

  • Acts as the chief financial resource of the Crowe RCA tool, ensuring data integrity and quality reporting. This position oversees the review and analysis of financial reports and journal entries to ensure appropriateness of the valuation of accounts receivable including the actual, budgeted, and projected amounts, including a complete understanding of any deviations from projections and trends.

  • Oversees the development and documentation of department policies, processes and procedures, and ensures the policies are upheld. Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

  • Provides leadership in the internal and external audit of net revenue and the valuation of accounts receivable, ensuring that all client assistance schedules are prepared timely and accurately, and obtaining answers to questions from auditors during fieldwork. Participates in planning and progress meetings with audit partners, Corporate Controller, and other staff directly involved in the audit. Maintains familiarity and serves as the primary liaison to auditors with all aspects of the systems net revenue.

  • Coaches and mentors staff to help them improve the quality of their work and develop their careers and ensures that all deadlines are met consistently. Directs personnel actions including recruiting, new hire actions, interviewing and selection of new staff, salary determinations, training, and personnel evaluations.

  • Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Banner Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

  • Minimum Qualifications

    Must possess strong knowledge and understanding of healthcare financial processes and reporting as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and five years of experience in a healthcare or large multi-operational, complex corporate environment.

    Depending upon assigned area of responsibility, position may require applicable certifications and/or licensures, including but not limited to: RN; MD or DO; Drivers License; Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA); Certified Protection Professional (CPP); Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU); Associate in Risk Management (ARM); CPA; SPHR; Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA); Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT); Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM); Certified Facility Manager (CFM); Certified Coding Specialist (CCS); Certified Professional Coder (CPC); JD from an American Bar Association accredited school; admission to a State Bar Association.

    A minimum of three years management level experience.Requires demonstrated ability to recognize opportunities for creating operational efficiencies and anticipating and responding to the needs of internal and external customers. Must have excellent analytical and data interpretation skills. Requires excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel in a large organization.

    Must be proficient in database and spreadsheet software.

    Preferred Qualifications

    CPA license, previous supervisory/management experience, net revenue accounting experience in a healthcare environment and experience with Patient Accounting System general ledger accounting system preferred.

    Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
