Banner Family Pharmacy-Chandler is a facility that supports the Specialty, Home Delivery and Central Fill service lines. This pharmacy processes, fills, and ships prescriptions for these service lines. This pharmacy is URAC accredited and supports various payors for Specialty and Home Delivery plans. This position is responsible for daily operations of our Specialty, Home Delivery and Central Fill pharmacy departments. This position is responsible for collaborating with various stakeholders and departments within Banner Health and vendors/partners outside of Banner. This pharmacy is comprised of the support center (front end) and fulfilment center (back end) pharmacy departments. This position will provide leadership for a diverse team of Managers, Supervisors, Clinical/Staff Pharmacists, Technicians, Pharmacy Patient Advocates, Maintenance Technician and Purchasing Coordinator. Candidates should have experience in managing fast paced complex pharmacy operations. Experience in Specialty and/or Home Delivery pharmacy is highly preferred. The chosen candidate will serve as the pharmacist-in-charge for this location as required by the Arizona Board of Pharmacy.

This position is responsible for leading and overseeing operational activities of Specialty, Home Delivery and Central Fill Pharmacy Services. Ensures the functions of the department are consistent with all applicable accreditation standards, federal laws and regulations, and state laws and regulations for all states in which the pharmacy maintains licensure. Develops, implements, maintains and ensures compliance with approved policies and procedures. Plans, directs, monitors, and evaluates the provision of central fill and dispensing services. Collaborates with specialty and retail pharmacy leadership to optimize pharmacy operations. Assures adequate departmental staffing according to workload while maintaining expected productivity levels. Participates in developing system standards of work performance, orientation and training programs. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients being served.
Requires a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
Requires current pharmacy licensure in the state of practice within 90 days of hire. Licensure in additional states may be required.
Five years of experience in a retail, specialty, or mail order pharmacy or similar setting required. Previous supervisory experience required. Must possess good organizational, problem solving and computer skills. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and other contacts. Must be able to use reference tools to evaluate patient care and answer questions posed by customers.
Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software, Microsoft applications and automated dispensing system.
Post-graduate degree in business or health administration preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
